Four ways we support learners
There is no single type of “MMC learner”. That is intentional – we adapt the environment and approach around each individual.
Private Tuition
Additional support or challenge alongside mainstream school, taught by a qualified teacher.
Home Education
Teaching and support for families who home educate, built around your child.
Alternative Provision
A different approach for learners who need one – including EOTAS packages and support to re-engage with learning.
Post-16
Education for young people aged 16 and over, shaped around each learner’s next steps.
Our approach: the child first, always
Belong
When learners walk through our doors, they matter. Successes are celebrated, difficult days are understood and relationships are built over time – we are the MMC family.
Grow
We keep high expectations for learning, while recognising that the route to achieving them will not look the same for every learner.
Thrive
High-quality teaching combined with SEND-aware and trauma-informed practice, without placing labels or limits on what learners can achieve.

Meet our Director
It started with Miss Honey
As a little girl, Rachel Mellor’s role model was Miss Honey from Matilda – the teacher who saw the child first. Rachel went on to become a qualified teacher (QTS), with many years’ experience across teaching, moderation, educational consultancy, assessment and supporting children with a wide range of learning and additional needs.
“Children learn best when they feel understood.”
